The band
For those of you reading this blog you will most likely be familiarly with Avenged Sevenfold's work, if not you should most defiantly look up some of their works (Nightmare, beast and the harlot,ect). A7X (Avenged Sevenfold's acronym) is a metal core band famous for their lengthy and vivid songs. For most music lovers songs spanning six and a half minuets would be a turn off, but A7X listeners know that the length of the songs is necessary to convey the story that is being told. The Band Members M. Shadows (Vocals, Mathew Charles Sanders), Synyster Gates (lead guitar, Brian Elwin Haner Jr.), Zacky Vengeance (lead guitar, Zachery James Baker), Johny Christ (Bass, Jonathan Lewis Seward), The Reverand Tholomew Plague aka the Rev (former Drummer now deceased, James Owen Sulivan), and Mike Pornoy formerly of Dream Theater (now the new Drummer). All the members of the band (except Jonathan and Pornoy) attended Huntington beach high school and have been friends since childhood ( Matt and James smoked their first cigarette together when they were 12).

About the Band
M.shadows
Born July 31, 198, he is the lead vocalist in the band and is the main song writer for the band. He plays guitar, piano, and the organ. Matt is married to the bands manager Valary DiBendetto, who was a crucial player in getting the band off the ground (and is featured in several videos including Dear God, and Seize the Day). Val is the youngest of three sisters; one of which is her twin sister, whom she refuses to have the same hair color as.
M. Shadows is the primary song writer for the band, he wrote Gunslinger, Seize the day and critically acclaimed by himself . He states that his influences are iron maiden, Metalica, Megadeath, and Pantera, he says the bands influence the sound of the band greatly.
Synyster Gates
"If I had to do anything else I would be a failure-"
Syn is the iconic lead guitar player/ backup vocalist, he is the son of Brian Hanner Sr., and brother in law to M.shadows. Syn is married to Michelle Dibennedetto (Val's twin sister), they were married on May 7th 2010 in Mexico.
Syn has won several awards including guitarist of the year in 2007 by "Total Guitar magazine", young shredders award in 2006 by "Golden Gods Awards", in 2010 "guitar world" listed him n the 30 best metal guitarist of all time, and "Rock on" magazine's readers poll voted him the 3rd best musician in the industry.
Syn was originally in a different band named Pinkly smooth, with The Reverend Tholomew Plague until 1999 when he joined Avenged Sevenfold after the sounding the Seventh Trumpet album. Syn is described as having a witty since of sarcastic humor that you will either love or hate and is a total bad ass (he slammed a guys head down on a table after he spat on Matt). He is a collector of hats by last count he had 263 hats. He also has an extensive collection of guns he inherited from his grandfather, his favorite is a .50 cal hand cannon.
Johny Christ
Jonathan is the bass player for the band, though unlike Syn hes not to big or tough (every member of the band has beaten Jonathan up at least once and hes been mugged twice on tour). Jonathan stands at 5 feet 4 inches and is the youngest member of the band. He is best know for his sweet little brother attitude (when he is sober, which is rare).
Jonathan joined the band in 2002 after three consistent bass players. Jonathan is as the band would put it " a cross eyed drunk" and the band likes to mess with him when hes drunk, Syn told him that he could beat up Zack the end result was Jonathan going up to him and saying "lets go"; Zacky then knocks him unconscious with one punch. later he grabs Zack and starts punching him, Zack wins the fight but ends up playing that night with a broken finger (he broke it while punching Jonathan). Needless to say Jonathan is the Charlie sheen of the band.
Zacky Vengeance
Zack is the playboy of the band, his guitar's name even mirrors his perversions, the guitars name is a pure white guitar with red splotches named the Gynecologist (Zack also calls himself the Gynecologist for obvious reasons). Zack was in a band prior to AX7 it was called MPA (Mad Porno Action), Matt says it was named so for a wild night Zacky had.
Zacky is the Rhythmic guitarist for the band, he is also a left handed guitarist. Zacky originally learned to play on his fathers guitar, which was a right handed guitar he learned bu playing it upside down. the first guitar he actually own was a Squire strata-caster that he got for his birthday (his parents caught him playing two weeks before his actual birthday).

Jimmy was the drummer for the band till an accidental overdose on prescription pain killers and alcohol. The overdose happened on December 27 of 2009, and was dubbed accidental by the proper authorities. Prior to his death Jimmy was one of the greatest drummers in the industry, he was a song writer, vocalists, and drummer for the band. Jimmy wrote all the lyrics and riffs for "A little piece of Heaven", "Almost Easy", "Afterlife", and he wrote the concept for "Brompton Cocktail".
Jimmy stated in an interview he said he was greatly influenced by Vinne paul of Pantera, Dave Lombardo, and Mike Pornoy.
Jimmy's girlfriends name is Leana "silver" Mcfadden (I'm not sure what the "silver" is for). She was never married to Jimmy but she was his "soul mate". Matt said in an interview that Jimmy didn't believe in marriage, however the pair had tattoos on their ring fingers Jimmy had Leana and vise versa.
